There was no sign of the recent trouble at Bangkok airport but there were far fewer travellers there than you normally see. The temperature is ok though, mid 20’s and not very humid.

An early evening stroll along Sukhumvit Road confirms that there just aren’t the numbers of visitors here. My favourite restaurant is pretty empty and the owner tells me that things have been bad all year but the past month has just been terrible.

My hotel, the Drop Inn, is ok, the staff are really friendly and helpful. They’ve put wi-fi in all the rooms but getting it to work is another matter. Luckily there’s free internet available in the bar across the road – but you do have to buy a beer to use it!

The walls are pretty thin so you can hear most things going on in the room next door. Don’t know what my neighbour was doing last night but around 3:30am I was woken up by the noise of him unwrapping things and then re-wrapping them and taping them up. Very odd. It occurred to me at breakfast that he could have been doing something very peverted……….
